Art dealer and Advisor

Steven Zynszajn is the Founder and Director of Elegant Century Art in New York. A French-American citizen raised in a family of art connoisseurs, he grew up in the Paris neighborhood of Montparnasse, retracing the illustrious footsteps of Picasso, Modigliani, Chagall, and Giacometti. Initially trained as a violinist, he learned to associate the works of the French impressionists with their musical and literary counterparts. Lessons were regularly taught in the Bernheim (of Galerie Bernheim-Jeune) home, further accentuating the notion of art and music as a common sensibility.

After studies at the Juilliard School and La Sorbonne, Steven turned to the business of art, establishing Elegant Century Art with Gregory Singer in 2012. In New York, he perfected his expertise in Art Law and Finance with the Christie’s art program.

Elegant Century Art is a leading advisory specialized in the sale and acquisition of Impressionist and modern paintings. Having recently expanded to the postwar era to include abstract expressionism, ECA's range in effect encompasses the century period from 1870 to 1980.

Focused on museum-quality works, ECA led by Steven Zynszajn is sought after by Forbes 400 and Artnet Top 100 collectors, business leaders in Asia, and prominent European institutions. He has served as a consultant to major auction houses in the United States and Asia, and his keen eye led to the discovery of an important work by Konstantin Korovin, the father of Russian Impressionism. In his spare time, Steven is assiduously devoted to playing the piano and perfecting his backhand.
